How do I import my existing email list into the platform?
Once you have your list ready in the format that you choose (TXT or CSV) you will go to LISTS > Click on LISTS from the dropdown > Click on the CREATE NEW button > Follow the List Setup prompts and either drag-and-drop your file, or upload it as per the instructions. What's the best way to clean my email list and remove invalid addresses?
There are many ways to clean your list, but a great place to start is to take advantage of our built-in list cleaning service. With our add-on list cleaning service your list is scanned to identify and help you remove hidden threats like disposable, deactivated and spam-trap emails. This helps you to only include, deliverable, active and safe addresses to your list and improve your sender reputation and overall email marketing efforts. How can I segment my subscribers based on data I have about them?
Let's use an example of how easy it is to segment your audience:
You have a CITY column that contains the cities where your subscribers live, allowing them to select their city.. Some live in “Cape Town”, some live in “London” and some live in “New York”. To segment your lists you'd go to LISTS > LISTS > MANAGE SUBSCRIBERS > SEGMENT SUBSCRIBERS > CREATE NEW. You'll select the NAME FIELD for our example but depending on your needs you could use an OPERATOR MATCH too.
Now that we've chosen the NAME FIELD we just have to enter the name of the city that we'd like to create a segment for and save. You need to ensure you have the appropriate fields available on your list to enable segmentation. You can learn How To Segment Your List here.
What's the process for merging duplicate contacts?
When you upload a list, the system automatically detects any duplicates, when lists are merged, the system also removes duplicates.
How do you handle bounced emails?
The platform automatically processes bounced emails by categorising them as either hard bounces (permanent failures) or soft bounces (temporary failures). Hard bounce addresses are removed from your active mailing list and added to your blacklist immediately, whereas soft bounces are monitored for patterns. If an email address soft bounces after 5 campaign sends, it becomes a hard bounce to ensure optimal deliverability and to protect your sender reputation.
What happens when an email address becomes invalid?
Once an email becomes invalid, it's added to your account blacklist. Your account blacklist can be found by clicking LISTS > BLACKLIST. The blacklist contains subscribers that will be excluded from being sent emails in the future. The reason your blacklist is important is because you want to eliminate invalid email addresses and make sure you never send emails to subscribers that have opted out, especially if they happen to be on more than one list.
How do I set up a double opt-in for new subscribers?
When creating a new list you'll navigate to LISTS on your dashboard and then select lists from the dropdown menu LISTS. Now click on the CREATE LIST button.
You can now fill out your specific List details and ensure that under Opt-in, Double opt-in is selected. You can continue to upload your list information as needed. Once you've done that you can design your form or set the default form in the Brand Hub. Please ensure that you set up your customised subscription form, Pending Subscribe Page as well as Subscribe Confirm email to ensure your double opt-in journey is aligned with your brand.
